What We Do

Using our own portable licensed radar system, EventMet establish an operating site at the optimal location for each customer event.  Once set up (within 30 mins of arriving at a surveyed site), EventMet are able to provide a precise and accurate picture of any immediate weather threat.  Constant vigilance by experienced operators allows EventMet to provide an accuracy of rainfall arrival and duration to within one minute (yes, really 1 minute!).  EventMet will also provide an indication of the intensity of any precipitation expected during that period.  All of this information can be passed directly to event organisers and team managers/principles via a dedicated web link to a PC or through a voice radio link.

EventMet will not use well-worn traditional weather forecast phrases such as "it is likely to rain later in the day" or "there is a 30% probability of rain in the next 2 hours".   EventMet argue that such information can be meaningless and confusing to customers, and in many cases just downright unhelpful.  The EventMet aim is to provide real-time meaningful information that can bring tangible results.  The EventMet experience and skill has been honed on the F1 and World Endurance Motor racing circuit over the last 15 years, where the wrong call, or unwarranted deliberation, can lead to the race being lost.

By allowing EventMet to provide consistent and reliable information, it removes from event organisers and team managers/principles the uncertainty and distraction of worrying about what ‘dark clouds overhead’ may mean.  Thus allowing the customer to concentrate on making the optimum calls with the very best information available.
